The Science Behind Our Range
Biodermal Skin Tech is scientifically formulated to produce visible results by these pharmacological actions
Attracting water from the dermis below and helping to keep that water bound in the stratum corneum.
Provide Free Radical Defence. Free radicals are molecules that have an unpaired electron, which means they're missing one electron. They're also pretty unstable, so they try to find another molecule and steal its electron. When they do this, the free radical takes the electron from the other molecule and becomes stable again—but it also creates a chain reaction that damages or destroys other molecules.
Antioxidants are like sacrificial shields—they intercept free radicals before they can react with other biological molecules. The antioxidants in our bodies help defend us against damage from environmental factors, like pollution or cigarette smoke.
Initiating the increase of epidermal proliferation leading to: epidermal thickening, compaction of the stratum corneum, and biosynthesis and deposition of Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) regulate the action of proteins essential to bone and skin regeneration. GAGs cells maintain and support collagen, elastin, turgidity (bounce) in the cellular spaces and keep protein fibres in balance and proportion. It also promotes the ability of the collagen and elastin fibres to retain moisture, therefore remaining soluble. In skin care products, they are essential to the epidermal & dermal cells metabolism. Attracting water from the dermis below and helping to keep that water bound in the stratum corneum.
Dissolving bonds that hold dead skin together which in turn normalises cell turnover in the epidermis. This stimulates the formation of normal healthy skin, which includes a sloughing of the Stratum Corneum, a decreased formation of dry scales on the skin’s surface and stimulation of the cell cycle.
Using Biodermal Skin tech Products you can expect better skin hydration, improved skin appearance and overall healthier looking skin.
Normalising and inhibiting melanocyte activity.
The enzyme ‘Tyrosinase’ is responsible for oxidising the amino acid ‘Tyrosine’. It does this by forming DOPA quinone, which is then converted to DOPA dihydroxylation, which makes melanin in the melanosome. The stratum corneum of the epidermis is responsible for holding water bound in it, and this is achieved through normalisation of water levels in the dermis below. This process is inhibited by the active ingredient within Biodermal Skin Tech.
Blocking of inflammatory mediators produced by the skin and immune cells which in turn alleviates or improves pigmentation, acne, fights tissue destruction.
Creating a controlled wound, that is a mild burn. In order to understand how to improve skin condition and appearance, it is important to understand what happens when a wound occurs. When a controlled burn is made, bonds between cells are dissolved and epidermal cells begin to shed more rapidly. New tissue is created, and damaged tissue is quickly replaced. The shedding of skin cells sends signals for more cell division. This process stimulates the fibroblasts wound healing activity, the proliferation of fibroblast activity increases collagen and elastin. The wound healing process is what causes improvement in skin condition and appearance.
